years, Ms. Podziba

health, and education
policy.
She
founded Susan Podziba
& Associates
in 1990 and has
been affiliated
with the MIT-Harvard
Public Disputes
Project of the Program
on Negotiation at
Harvard Law School
since 1986, where
she is currently
a Practitioner Associate.
She is a Past President
of the New England
Society of Professionals
in Dispute Resolution.
Ms.
Podziba was a Lecturer
at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology's
Department of Urban
Studies and Planning
from 1996-2002,
where she taught
a graduate course
in public policy
negotiation and
conflict resolution.
She taught at the
Program On Negotiation
at Harvard Law School
from 1999-2002,
where her students
included graduate
students and professionals
from six continents.
She lectures regularly
at MIT and Harvard,
as well as internationally.
Ms.
Podziba has written
and published numerous
articles on negotiation,
mediation, and consensus-building,
and her work has
been showcased by
media outlets such
as The Washington
Post, Christian
Science Monitor,
The Boston Globe,
FastCompany, National
Public Radio, and
affiliates of all
major television
networks.
Ms.
Podziba received
her B.A. in philosophy
from the University
of Pennsylvania
and a Masters in
City Planning from
the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.

David
Laws is a Research
Scientist and Lecturer
in the Environmental
Policy Group, in
the Department of
Urban Studies and
Planning, at the
Massachusetts Institute
of Technology. He
is co-director of
the Environmental
Technology and Public
Policy Program and
Senior Consultant
at Susan Podziba
& Associates.
Dr.
Laws specializes
in ethics, public
policy, and alternative
dispute resolution.
His research focuses
on institutional
development in environmental
regulation and democratic
governance. Recent
publications include:
“Talking With
The Future: Sustainability
as Intergenerational
Dialogue”
(coauthored with
Lawrence Susskind)
in National Forum;
and “Human
Health and the Environment:
Unanswered Questions,
Unquestioned Answers”
(with Ambuj Sagar)
in Environmental

Review. He was the
recipient of the
Martin Environmental
Fellowship and MIT's
Goodwin Medal for
teaching in 1995.
